Sometime last year, on a quiet evening while scrolling down my Facebook news feed. I stumbled upon my friend Anisha Bangera’s post where she had just won a contest “GrabYourDream” run by Cox&Kings in association with gadventures & ezeego. The contest was about the biggest hunt for travel adventurers in India with 12 winners getting picked per season and each of them gets a chance to travel on an all-expenses-paid holiday to some of the most exciting places on earth. Woah!! How lucky one has to be, right?

Taking Pride.

Cinthol - Relish the ChallengeThere is a Ladakhi saying that "The Land is so barren and passes are so high that only our worst enemies or best friends would want to visit us". St Mary's Island from a distance.

Cinthol - Alive is Awesome

Coconut Island, popularly known as St Mary's Island, is a tiny strip of land in the Arabian sea, off the coast of Malpe, Karnataka. This island was formed by sub-aerial, sub-volcanic activity, and apparently was once a part of Madagascar before it drifted away some millions of years ago. The island is full of crystallized basalt rock - a unique geological formation of hexagonal shape.

And who named the Island St.Mary's? Well, according to a local legend, in the year 1498, Vasco da Gama landed at St.Mary's Island, fixed a cross and named the island - O Padara de Santa Maria as a dedication to St.Mary, before he proceeded to Calicut.
